A high-school math teacher in Illinois has been fired after an intern allegedly punched a female teacher in the face for being an “engine knocking nerd.”

    According to a report by Fox 2, the incident occurred during a class at Lake Park High School, which is located in rural Illinois.

    The teacher reportedly confronted the female intern after she started complaining about the lack of work in the classroom.

    According to the report, the male intern allegedly grabbed the teacher’s neck and started hitting her repeatedly, causing her to fall to the ground.

    The alleged assault reportedly lasted several minutes before the female teacher came to her senses and called the police.

    According to Fox 2’s report, both the teacher and the intern have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

    The unnamed teacher has not yet been named.
